Dolan's Uyghur Cuisine in Alhambra is a family-owned halal restaurant at 742 West Valley Boulevard, Alhambra, CA 91803, open every day from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. We serve authentic Uyghur and Central Asian food in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley, a short drive from Monterey Park, San Gabriel, Rosemead, and Pasadena.
Everything we serve is 100% halal - the whole menu, the whole kitchen. No pork, no alcohol. Uyghur cooking is naturally halal — it grew up in the oasis towns of Central Asia, where Turkic, Persian, and Chinese kitchens met and traded technique for centuries.
What we cook here
Our chefs hand-pull Laghman noodles fresh throughout the day and finish them in a tomato-based lamb and vegetable sauce. Samsa — lamb and onion folded into flaky pastry — bake in a tandoor-style oven until the tops blister. Lamb kebabs go over charcoal with cumin and chili, and Uyghur polo simmers slowly with carrots until the rice takes on the fat and sweetness of the lamb. Every dish on our menu is listed in two languages.

On West Valley Boulevard, in the San Gabriel Valley
This is where Dolan's started, in 2019. West Valley Boulevard runs through one of the densest restaurant corridors in the country — a stretch where a new kitchen has to be worth the parking space to survive. Opening a Uyghur restaurant here meant serving a cuisine most people walking past could not name, on a street where they already had four hundred alternatives.
Parking is free on site, which on this boulevard is not a given. Most tables are large enough for the food to go in the middle, which is how the menu is meant to be eaten — Big Plate Chicken and the Tower Kebab both arrive expecting more than one person.
